Modern and classy wines in Galicia

One of the things that I love most about this world is the immense offer and different projects they are waiting to be discovered, little treasures of ours that make worth every effort in the way.

You might have read about this winery before, native to Ribeira Sacra (you can read more about them here). Due to the high request of their popular Godello white wine (with a very limited production) they have had to look for new vineyards in Valdeorras to elaborate a delightful and fruity wine, nice and elegant. Without a doubt, a very good option to discover this new and passionate project.

On the other hand, they have started a new project in Rías Baixas. With a modern touch, a nice alternative to the classic monocepage Albariño from the region recently came out on the market. An Albariño that surprised us because of its originality, aftertaste and because it is a very round wine. A classy, modern and delicious albariño from D.O. Rías Baixas

Al’Bernard 2012

100% Albariño

D.O. Rías Baixas

PVP: 14,75€ available at our store

Pale gold colour with a intense and classy leg with greenish hints. With a little carbonic.

In the nose attacks with orujo (=liquor distilled from grape remains), flower liquor and cinnamon notes. Undergrowth and river notes with hints of balsamics. Very different from the classic Albariño wines.

In the palate is smooth, velvety, slightly spicy, fresh, unctuous and well balanced. Fine and with embracing notes. Long and very floral aftertaste.

It is not a classic Albariño wine, it is modern, easy to drink and very well balanced and round.

Perfect to have with seafood, risottos, paella, fish and White meat.

What other White Galician wines would you recommend me? Thank you for your comment.
