Today we want to introduce you a Spanish Cava (Spanish sparkling wine mainly from Catalonia produced with the champenoise method), a different one that might surprised many. A little and humble wine cellar at Sadurní d’Anoia, birthplace of every popular wine cellar producing this emblematic sparkling wine.
Conde de Valicourt is a small artisan winery where they produce their products in a traditional way and handcrafted. Everything is done by hand, from the collection grapes to bottling and labeling. It has an unique and total production of 80,000 no more, no less, to keep the quality and craftsmanship. 100 % natural and free of unnecessary chemicals, sophisticated palate and ultimately PURE CAVA , as they define them.
Our recommendation is Permont ‘s Brut Nature. A cava with a traditional blend of Xarel.lo , Macabeo and Parellada . With an aging time of 18 months even if it comes labeled as young . A cava with the best scores in the main guides ( Guia Penin : 85 points or Wine guide of Catalonia: 8.52 points) . Recently awarded the gold medal in the publication ” 50 Great Cavas “
