Spanish wines: bet on them


An evening in March we had the opportunity to attend an event where they had some of the best Spanish wineries, we had the opportunity to see why they are so.

For thus we recommend you these wines from this blog and you will soon be able to purchase them at our store. Great wines and great professionals.

You can count for great quality. Some of the best wineries and wines as it follows:

Antídoto 2012- D.O. Ribera del Duero-100% Tinto fino. Vineyards at 900 meters on the east slope of the Ribero del Duero. The nose has hints of red fruits, cinnamon, forest, wood, vanilla and butter background. The palate is sweet, tasty and balanced. Delicious. The wood adds elegance.

La Rosa de Antídoto- 100% Tinto fino- D.O.Ribera del Duero (Soria)- Salmon red color. The nose has hints of bakery, pink champagne, balsamic, mint, strawberry background. The palate is sweet, tasty with a right acidity but well balanced. Wonderful.Love it!

Domino d’ Es. 2011. Old vines from Soria. D.O. Ribera del Duero- 95% Tinta fino, 5% Albillo- The nose has hints of red fruits, vanilla, fruity nose, elegant and with personality.

The palate is sweet with sweet tannin. Very well balanced. Powerful. Elegant. To take a relaxed glass of wine , with no haste.

Pétalos del Bierzo 2012. D.O. Bierzo  – Mencía y white grape: Alicante Bouschet, among othersNew vintage. Red fruits, sweet, strawberry, butter, peppermint. The palate is fruity with a right acidity symptom of his youth. Sweet tannin, good vintage.

Villa Corullón 2012.  Mencía y White grape. – Red cherry colour, maroon rim. Intense nose. Ripe fruits and vanilla. Smells like powders. The palate is more acid, powerful and balanced. Tasty and elegant.

Las Lamas 2012. D.O. Bierzo- Mencía y Alicant Bouschet- Cherry red colour. The nose has hints of sour strawberry and butter. Velvety nose. Fine. The palate is powerful, balanced, elegant, tasty. Yummy. At its best.

Ostatu Crianza 2011. D.O. Ca Rioja – 90% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano, Mazuelo, Garnacha- The nose has hints of red fruit and refined oak, vanilla, sweet tooth nose. The palate is slightly acid, with good tannins, less sweet with balsamic notes. Powerful, with balsamic and long aftertaste.

Selección Ostatu 2009. D.O. Ca. Rioja – 95% Tempranillo, 5% graciano.- The nose has hints of vanilla, butter, powerful and fruity nose. The palate is sweet, well balanced, tasty with a nice polished tannin. Very fruity.

Lore de Ostatu 2011. D.O.Ca.Rioja – 50% Viura, 50% Malvasia- Straw yellow colour, the nose has hints of pear and anise.

Gloria de Ostatu. D.O. Ca. Rioja. 100% Tempranillo. Limited Production – The nose has hints of nuts black fruit, yeast, butter. The palate is spicy, fruity, with tannins present. Balanced. It is nice.

Laderas de Ostatu. D.O.Ca. 2009-  97% Tempranillo, 3% Viura – The nose has hints of hay, toffee, marmalade, and toasted nuts. The palate has the tannins present, it is more bitter, slightly sweet, lighter. Very original.

Marque de Murrieta Reserva 2008. D.O. Ca. – 86% Tempranillo, 8% Garnacha tinta, 4% Mazuelo, 2% Graciano– The nose has hints of lilac, poppy, vanilla, chocolate and tobacco. The palate is spicy, fruity, balanced with well integrated wood. Elegant.

Pazo Barrantes 2012. D.O. Rías Baixas- 100% Albariño- The nose has a light touch of “paella” with citrus and sea hints. Smells like “a good Albariño.” The palate is slightly acid, buttery, sweet. Very, very nice.

Angelitos Negros 2012. D.O. Toro- 100% Tinta de Toro- The nose smells like strawberry ketone (waxes when we were little). The palate is long and fruity. Very balanced and very is nice. Very tasty.

Cachito Mío 2012. D.O. Toro – 100% Tinta de Toro- The nose has hints of butter, red fruits. A very nice and intense nose. The palate is a candy! Very sweet and very it is nice.

¡EA! 2012. D.O. Mancha 100% Cencibel- The nose has hints of butter, red fruits, with a hint of toasted almond. The palate is sweet, with sweet tannin. It is very nice.

¡EA! Blanco 2013. D.O. Mancha- Airen y otras variedades- The nose is fruity, it has hints of lychee, tropical fruit, with a touch of hay. The palate is very fruity, easy to drink, with a nice acidity, smooth and envolving. Perfect for summer.

On this evening of great wines we also had the opportunity to taste the famous Camins del Priorat (Grenache, Carignane, C.Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot), freshly bottled the new vintage. The vintage 2013 on this occasion presented really well-balanced perfect. A delight to the palate.

Les Terrasses 2012. D.O.Q. Priorat- Samsó, Garnacha y otras-. It is elegant, fine, balanced and to enjoy slowly and unhurried.

 Those are some of the greatest. Of course, there were lots more that evening that we couldn’t taste, but I am sure we will be able to introduce them in the future.
