Best Spanish wines awarded at Bacchus 2013


The most famous and prestigious wine comepetition in Spain is Bacchus Awards. Every March, Master of wine, wine makers, Masters of Sommelier and others wine experts have the tremendous work of tasting around 1.500 wines from all around the world.

Only for those four days, Madrid is the worldwide wine capital where only the best wines will get a medal. Here are the winners of such prestigious competition:

Gold Medals

From de town of Cava, Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, in Catalonia, Juvé & Camps has elaborated sprakling wines since de 18th century. One of the finest Cavas along the country. You can make sure it’s a deserved award for this wine. Price: 16,12€

Crápula D.O. Jumilla. Red wine.

There’s a little place in the south Spain, Murcia, where you can find some great wines in the Apellation of Origins included in the state. Fruity and tasty.

Palacio de la Vega Chardonnay . D.O. Navarra.

One of best white wines of Navarra, balanced and delicious chardonnay from the north of Spain. Give it try!

Mar de Frades. D.O. Rias Baixas. Albariño


One of the most emblematic albariños of Galicia. Mar de Frades is the perfect match for seafood and fish. Well deserved award for an excellent wine. Price: 14,50€


Ramón Bilbao Viñedos de Altura. D.O. Ca. Rioja.

Ramón Bilbao is one of best wineries in the northern region of Rioja. Viñedos de Altura is their latest wine on the market, and soon it has started to receive awards. A delicious option for evening with friends. Price: 10,70€

This sweet wine production comes through a very long ageing in wooden boots from native Pedro Ximén grape. Perfect match with coffee, snacks, desserts… and anything you can think of. to enjoy on your own or to share. Price: 19,80€

Silver Medals

Conde de la Vega. D.O. Navarra

Palacio de la Vega winery assets their vineyards in the north of Spain, in Navarra, where wines have their own personality.

Tarsus Reserva 2008. D.O. Ribera del Duero.

QR Vino del Mes

From one of the most prestigious wine regions. This reserve wine is smooth and elegant in its tasting fase and balanced. Price: 22,45€.

Ramón Bilbao Reserva. D.O. Ca. Rioja

Ramon Bilbao’s reserve wine. Perfect and balanced red wine, well-deserved of this award.

Diez Siglos Verdejo. D.O. Rueda.

Rueda is one of the regions in style in the whole country. It is no strange that Diez Siglos has been awarded. Easy to drink.
